Gooseberry(Nellikka) Squash
A nutritious and tasty drink for diabetic people and others.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 10 nos Gooseberry Nellikka
- 1 small Ginger
- 1 nos Lemon
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Sugar
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing gooseberry(nellikka) squash, first wash the nellikka well and remove the seeds.
Step 2
Clean and cut the ginger into small pieces. Grind the nellikka and ginger pieces together in a mixie.
Step 3
Filter the ground mix into a jug/glass vessel.
Step 4
Add 1-2 teaspoon salt into this filtered water. Also add 2-3 teaspoon of sugar into this mix and stir it well.
Step 5
Cut one lemon into two pieces and add the juice into the water as shown below. Stir the Stir everything together thoroughly. The squash is ready.
Step 6
The salt, ginger and sugar can be added subject to the requirement.Change the squash into a bottle and keep it in the fridge. As and when required, take some squash, add required water and serve. This is a good healthy drink for diabetic people and others as well.
Tip
Fresh curry leaves make a genuine difference. Dried curry leaves are a poor substitute — if you cannot get fresh ones, increase the quantity and fry them longer.
