Ghee Rice
A one-pot rice dish that brings together grains, spices, and vegetables or meat in a single satisfying meal. The rice absorbs every flavour in the pot and comes out fragrant, colourful, and complete.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Biriyani rice : 2 ½ cup
- Onion : 2 nos (slices

- Ginger garlic paste : 1 ½ tsp
- Garam masala : 2 tsp
- Cahewnut/ raisins : 1 tsp
- Ghee, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Water : 5 ½ cup
Preparation
Step 1
Set a pan on the stove, add little ghee and fry the rice till slightly crispy.

Set aside.3) In the pan, heat a tsp of ghee and oil.4) Add onion chopped and ginger-garlic paste and cook well.
Step 3
Add the fried rice and Stir everything together thoroughly.6) Mean while boil the water with salt and garam masala.7) Add the fried rice into it.8) Allow it to cook in low fire.
Step 4
When done, transfer into small plate.10) Fry the sliced onion in oil and mix with the cooked rice and serve hot.
Tip
Soak the rice for at least 20 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking and prevents the grains from breaking.
