Garlic Prawns
Fresh prawn cooked the Kerala way — with coconut, curry leaves, and a tartness that comes from kudampuli or tamarind. Coastal Kerala cooking at its simplest and best.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 150 g Prawns cleaned, washed and — drained
- 25 g Garlic — minced
- 2 nos Onions — chopped
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tbsp Soya sauce
- 1 tbsp Tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Red chilly sauce
- 5 nos Green chillies — slit
- 1 nos Capsicum — chopped
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing garlic prawns, fry garlic, onions and green chillies in oil.
Step 2
Drop in prawns and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 3
Next, add in soya sauce, tomato sauce, pepper powder, chilly sauce, capsicum and salt. Stir everything together thoroughly and allow the prawns to cook well.
Step 4
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Step 5
Garlic prawns are ready. Serve hot.
Tip
Never stir a fish curry with a spoon. Shake the pot gently to coat the pieces — stirring breaks them apart.
