Fruit And Nut Thari Kanji
Fruit and nut thari kanji is a light sweetened hot drink made from milk and semolina.It is one of the most regular drink made at home during ifthar season.Here I use ripe plantain,cashew nuts and raisins to get an extra taste to thari kanji.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 3 tbsp Semolina or raga
- 11/2 cup Milk
- 21/2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 Ripe palantain — chopped
- 10 Cashew nuts
- 10 Raisins
- 1 cup Water
- Salt pinch
- 1 tbsp Ghee
Preparation
Step 1
Cook the semolina in water with a pinch of salt for few minutes.
Step 2
Add chopped banana.
Step 3
Keep stirring and cook semolina and banana for 5 minutes in low flame.
Step 4
Add coconut milk,crushed cardamom,sugar and Bring to a gentle boil.When it start boil,take it off the heat.
Step 5
Heat ghee in a pan and roast cashew nuts and raisins in it.pour it into the thari kanji and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 6
Fruit and nut thari kanji is ready.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
