Fried Fish In Sauce
Fresh fish cooked the Kerala way — with coconut, curry leaves, and a tartness that comes from kudampuli or tamarind. Coastal Kerala cooking at its simplest and best.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Fish : 4 or 5 pieces
- Garlic paste : 1 tsp
- Corn flour : 1 tsp
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper : 1 tsp
- Butter — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Clean and pat dry the fish. Marinate with garlic paste, salt, flour, pepper.
Step 2
Heat butter in kadai, fry the fish till golden color.
Step 3
Remove from fire.4) In the same kadai, add green chillies, lime juice and cilantro. Fry for a minute.
Step 4
Add the corn starch in it and thicken.6) Place the fried fish in serving plate. Pour the sauce over.
Tip
A clay pot gives fish curry a distinctive taste that metal pans cannot replicate. If you have a manchatti, use it.
