Fish Fry In Curry Sauce(Meen)
Fish coated in batter, deep fired and cooked in tomato sauce, soya sauce and other ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 250 g Fish cut in medium sized pieces, Any fleshy fish without bones
- 3 nos Onion — finely sliced
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 nos Tomato — finely chopped
- 1/2 tbsp Soya sauce
- 1 tbsp Tomato sauce
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tbsp All purpose flour Maida
- 1 nos Egg
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- Water, to taste
- Coconut oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing fish fry in curry sauce, first make a batter with maida, egg, pepper powder, turmeric powder and required salt.
Step 2
Coat the fish pieces, one by one, with the batter and fry in hot oil in hot boiling oil until crisp and golden brown.
Step 3
Remove the fish pieces from oil and set aside.
Step 4
In the remaining oil, fry the finely sliced onions.
Step 5
When the onions are browned, add chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala and chopped tomato pieces. cook well until the tomato pieces are crushed well.
Step 6
Add 1/4 cup water and required salt. Boil in medium heat until the gravy has acquired a thick consistency. Lower the flame and add soya sauce and tomato sauce.
Step 7
Add the fried fish pieces and mix gently in low fire. Remove the vessel from fire.
Step 8
Fish fry in curry sauce, a mouth watering delicacy, is ready. Serve hot.
Tip
For a thicker gravy, cook uncovered on medium heat for the last few minutes. For a thinner consistency, add a splash of warm water.
