Fish Egg Masala
A non-vegetarian spicy dish prepared from fish eggs or roe coming from female fishes. A incredible dish rich in vital nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids and other nutrients required for body.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 200 g Fish egg sliced small, Meen mutta
- 2 nos Onion — sliced
- 2 tsp Ginger — sliced
- 1 tsp Garlic — sliced
- 3 nos Green chillies — chopped
- Garam masala A pinch
- 1/2 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- Pepper A pinch
- Salt, to taste
- Coconut oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing fish egg masala, first dry roast coconut, chilly powder and coriander powder.
Step 2
Grind this into paste.
Step 3
Heat the oil in kadai, add onion, ginger, garlic and green chillies.
Step 4
Add curry leaves, turmeric and the ground paste.
Step 5
Cook well till the oil comes out.
Step 6
Add the fish egg and Stir everything together thoroughly. Sprinkle little water, cover with a lid and cook well. cook and fry till dry.
Step 7
Fish egg masala is ready.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
