Fish Egg Fry(Meen)
Kerala-style dry fry where fish is cooked down until all the moisture evaporates and what remains is intensely flavoured, slightly caramelised, and impossibly moreish. Best with parotta or plain rice.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- Fish egg 6 to 8
- Chilly powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder 1/2 Tsp
- Salt, to taste
- Lemon juice 1/2
- Onion half
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Gather all ingredients in a small bowl.
Step 2
Mix it well.set aside for 30 minute.
Step 3
Heat a pan pour oil in it.
Step 4
When its hot make it to low flame and put the egg to it.
Step 5
Pour all egg.
Step 6
Allow it to get cooked.it will take 3 to 5 minute to get cooked.pour onion to it.
Step 7
Don't let it go for long time.it needs only a few minute.
Step 8
When its fried wipe off the excess oil using tissue paper.
Step 9
Then serve it with rice or chappathi.
Tip
A heavy-bottomed pan or cast iron skillet gives you the best results for a proper Kerala fry. Thin pans burn the spices before the meat dries.
