Fish Curry In Coconut Milk - Rich
Fish Curry in Coconut Milk Kerala -Thrissur style fish curry.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 kg Fish — sliced
- Thick coconut milk of 1 coconut
- 3 nos Shallots small onion
- 1 cup Water
- 1 small Ginger
- 2 nos Green Chillies split length wise
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 11/2 tsp Kashmiri chilly powder
- 3/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 - Fish tamarind according to ur taste, kudampuli
- Salt, to taste
- 2 Strings Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
- 4 nos Onion sliced, small
Preparation
Step 1
1) Wash and soak kudampuli in 1/4 cup of warm water and set aside.
Step 2
Crush ginger and small onion together.
Step 3
Get a kadai, pour the coconut milk into the kadai and add chilly powders,turmeric powder,ginger and small onion.
Step 4
Mix salt, curry leaves,water and kudampuli.
Step 5
Add fish and place the kadai into the fire and allow it to boil.
Step 6
Stir it occasionally for not curdling the coconut milk.
Step 7
Allow the fish to cook till the gravy becomes thick.
Step 8
When it 3/4 cooked add green chilly slits and curry leaves.
Step 9
Let the gravy become neither too thick or nor too thin (a semi medium gravy).
Step 10
Taste the gravy and if u need any changes add according to your taste.
Step 11
Then heat a pan, add 1 tsp of coconut oil.
Step 12
Add sliced small onion and cook until it become light brown.
Step 13
Add this to the curry.

Ur Fish Curry in Coconut Milk is ready.!
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
