Fish Ball
Fresh fish cooked the Kerala way — with coconut, curry leaves, and a tartness that comes from kudampuli or tamarind. Coastal Kerala cooking at its simplest and best.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- Fish : 4 nos
- Corn flour : 1 tsp
- Pepper powder : 2 tsp
- Chilly powder : 1 tsp
- Egg : 2 nos
- Coriander, a few
- Salt, to taste
- Oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Boil the fish with salt and separate the flesh.
Step 2
Chop the coriander leaves.
Step 3
Mix corn flour, pepper powder and coriander.
Step 4
Add egg and chilly powder and salt as needed and mix thoroughly.
Step 5
Make them into small balls and roll it on bread crumbs.
Step 6
Fry it in oil and serve with mayonnaise.
Tip
Never stir a fish curry with a spoon. Shake the pot gently to coat the pieces — stirring breaks them apart.
