Egg Bread Pockets | Egg Bread Sandwich
A quick and satisfying egg dish that proves you do not need expensive ingredients to eat well. Boiled eggs in a spiced gravy, or scrambled with onions and curry leaves — simple Kerala cooking at its most practical.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 3 nos Eggs Hard boiled
- 12 slice Bread slices
- 2 nos Onion
- 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, as needed
- Oil
- 1/2+1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 2 nos Egg
- 1 nos Green chilly — optional
Preparation
Step 1
Warm the oil in a pan and add ginger garlic paste and sliced onion, green chilly along with salt to taste. cook until it has softened and lightly browned. Then add turmeric powder, garam masala powder and pepper powder. cook for another 4-5 minutes and take it off the heat.
Step 2
Get a piece of bread slice and place a half piece of boiled egg on it, add 1-2 spoon onion massala and place another slice of bread into its top and press the edges.
Step 3
Finally beat 2 eggs by adding some pepper powder and salt, then dip the bread Pockets in it. Heat the oil in a pan and pan-fry the both sides.
Step 4
Egg Bread Pockets or Egg Bread Sandwich is ready.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
