Egg Biryani
This Kerala Egg biryani is cooked in pressure cooker. This kerala egg biryani is very different from the regular egg biryani which was cooked and put in dhum as layered.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 2 nos Eggs boiled
- 2 Sticks Cinnamon (Karugapatta)
- 2 nos Cloves (Grambu)
- Ginger garlic paste : 2 tsp
- 2 nos Cardamom (Elakka)
- 3 nos Onion thinly sliced, big
- 1 nos Tomato
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 2 cup Water
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 - Oil
- Cashewnuts — for garnishing
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker.
Step 2
Add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves and fry for about 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add onion and cook for 7 - 10 minutes.
Step 4
Add tomato and cook for about 3 minutes.
Step 5
Add rice and stir for about 3 minutes.
Step 6
Add boiled eggs, chilly powder, coriander powder, water and salt.
Step 7
Put the lid on and cook for about 3 - 4 minutes.
Step 8
Garnish Kerala Egg Biryani with cashew nuts.
Step 9
Serve Kerala Egg Biryani with raita.
Tip
Seal the pot with dough or a tight-fitting lid during dum cooking. No steam should escape, or the rice will dry out.
