Easy Sponge Cake
Maida flour mixed with egg yolks, egg whites, lemon juice, sugar, other ingredients and baked in an oven.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1/2 cup All purpose flour Maida
- 1/2 cup Sugar — powdered
- 3 nos Eggs seperated
- 1/4 tsp Lemon rind — grated
- 1/2 tbsp Lemon juice
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing easy sponge cake, first separate egg whites and yolk.
Step 2
Beat the egg yolks until thick and stir in sugar slowly. Add lemon rind, lemon juice and mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Now stir in the sieved flour and stiffly beaten egg whites.
Step 4
Pour the cake mixture into a cake dish and cook at 325ª for 15 minutes.

Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
