Easy Pineapple Pudding
A home-style Kerala dish made with care and the kind of spice knowledge that comes from watching someone else cook it a hundred times. Each step matters, and the result is worth the effort.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1/2 Of Pineapple medium sized
- 1/2 Tin Condensed milk
- 11/2 Tin Milk measured in condensed tin
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 10 g China grass
- 1/4 cup Water
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing easy pineapple pudding, first mix together condensed milk and milk together in a deep bottomed pan.
Step 2
Boil the mixture and set aside.
Step 3
Meanwhile, soak china grass in 1/4 cup water for 10 minutes and then heat the china grass until it dissolves completely.
Step 4
Add china grass mixture, 1/2 tbsp sugar and vanilla essence into the hot condensed milk mixture and Stir everything together thoroughly. Set aside.
Step 5
Meanwhile, cut the pineapple into thick slices and remove seeds etc. Grate the pineapple slices.
Step 6
Add 1/2 tbsp sugar to the grated pineapple and heat in a pan until water evaporates completely.
Step 7
Now we are entering the final stage of our preparation of easy pineapple pudding. Spread the grated pineapple on the bottom and sides of a pudding dish.
Step 8
Pour the condensed milk mixture over the grated pineapple. Do not stir.
Step 9
Keep the pudding dish in the refrigerator. Cool well and cut into slices.
Step 10
Easy pineapple pudding, a Nutritious dish, is ready.
Tip
When the recipe says "medium heat," it means medium. Kerala cooking is not about high-flame drama — most of the work happens at a patient, steady temperature.
