Easy Mutton Curry Easy
This homestyle mutton curry is built on a foundation of shallots fried dark in coconut oil and spices toasted until they release their full aroma. It tastes even better the next morning, spooned over cold leftover rice.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1/2 kg Mutton pieces cleaned and — washed
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 3 nos Onion — sliced
- Ginger garlic-green chilly paste - 1 tbsp
- 1 nos Tomato — chopped
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Tumeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 cup Coriander leaves — chopped
- 3 tbsp Water
- 1 tsp Salt
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker.
Step 2
Add onions and fry, till they become slightly brown in colour.
Step 3
Add ginger-garlic-green chilly paste and fry for about 5 minutes.
Step 4
Add chopped tomato and fry for another 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add all the powders and fry for about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add mutton pieces and give it a good stir.
Step 7
Add salt, coriander leaves and water.
Step 8
Cook Mutton Curry, till you hear 3 whistles.
Step 9
Mutton Curry is ready.
Step 10
Serve Mutton Curry hot.
Tip
Let the curry rest for at least 15 minutes after cooking — the flavours deepen as it sits. Reheated curry almost always tastes better than fresh.
