Easy Koonthal Stir Fry
Squid/koonthal pressure cooked with garlic and other ingredients and later stir fried.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 250 g Squid cleaned, washed and drained, Koonthal
- 1 nos Onion — finely sliced
- 3/4 tsp Garlic — crushed
- 1 nos Tomato — chopped
- 1 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Curry leaves, a few
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing easy koonthal stir fry, take a pressure cooker and put the drained koonthal, onion, crushed garlic, chopped tomato, chilly powder, turmeric powder, required salt and Stir everything together thoroughly. Do not add water.
Step 2
Pressure cook unto 4 whistles. Remove from fire and keep the cooked koonthal with gravy aside.
Step 3
Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry curry leaves. Stir in cooked koonthal pieces with gravy. fry until gravy has evaporated completely and the koonthal pieces are browned.
Step 4
Easy koonthal stir fry, an easy to prepare, dish is ready. Serve hot.
Tip
The final handful of curry leaves should go in right at the end, off the heat — they should crackle and crisp in the residual heat.
