Easy Egg N Bread Snack
A quick and satisfying egg dish that proves you do not need expensive ingredients to eat well. Boiled eggs in a spiced gravy, or scrambled with onions and curry leaves — simple Kerala cooking at its most practical.
Ingredientsfor 1 servings
- 1 nos Egg beaten
- 3 nos Bread — cut into 1 cm cubes
- 1/2 cup Onion — finely chopped
- 1 nos Green Chilly — finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 3 tbsp Water
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp Pepper Powder
- Garam Masala — optional
- 1 tsp Coriander leaves — chopped
Preparation
Step 1
Warm the oil in a pan and add chopped onion and green chilly. cook for a minute or so.
Step 2
After 1 minute, add the egg and scramble it.
Step 3
Add salt, pepper powder and coriander leaves.
Step 4
Sprinkle a little bit of water to the bread cut into small cubes and add it to the egg.
Step 5
Stir everything together thoroughly and cook in medium flame for 2 minutes.
Step 6
Serve the easy egg n bread snack with a sauce or chutney of your choice.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
