Easy Crab Masala
A favorite and dish with a slightly tangy aromatic flavor and aroma. an easy to prepare dish that can be cooked in a jiffy. unique and special with crab pieces cooked in naturally available spicy ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 kg Crabs cleaned with shells on, Njandu
- 6 nos Garlic cloves — minced
- 1" piece Ginger — minced
- 2 nos Green chillies — slit
- 1/2 tsp Tamarind pulp or paste (Puli)
- 1 nos Tomato — chopped
- 2 nos Shallots — finely chopped (Kunjulli)
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 nos Dry red chilly (Kollamulaku)
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tbsp Veg oil
- 300 ml Water
- Coriander leaves for garnishing A small bunch — chopped
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Easy Crab Masala, first Heat the oil in a pan.
Step 2
Add curry leaves and red chilly and cook for 30 seconds.
Step 3
Add ginger and garlic and Let it cook for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Add the chopped onions and cook, until soft and transparent.
Step 5
Add green chillies, garam masala, turmeric and salt, stir and cover.
Step 6
If you are using the tamarind pulp, make a paste with some warm water and add this to the pan as well and Let it cook for 2 minutes.
Step 7
Add the chopped tomatoes, the uncooked crab and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 8
Add water and cook on low heat for 30 minutes, until the crab is cooked.
Step 9
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Step 10
Crab Masala is ready.
Step 11
Serve Crab Masala hot with rice.
Tip
Never stir a fish curry with a spoon. Shake the pot gently to coat the pieces — stirring breaks them apart.
