Easy Chilli Gobi
A favourite tea-time snack from Kerala kitchens — quick to make, satisfying to eat, and always better shared with a cup of chai on a rainy afternoon.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 nos Cauliflower Separated into small florets
- 3 nos Onions Sliced thin and long
- 3 nos Green chillies — cut into two lengthwise
- Chilli sauce
- Flour(Kadala mavu, to taste
- Chilly powder, to taste
- Asafoetida A pinch (Kayam)
- Salt, to taste
- Vegetable oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Mix together gram flour, little chilly powder, salt, a pinch of asafoetida and make a thick batter.
Step 2
Dip the florets into it and fry in hot oil in oil. Keep the aside.
Step 3
Heat a little oil in a frying pan.
Step 4
Add onions and green chillies and sauté, till the onions turns light golden.
Step 5
Add chilli sauce and cook for about 2 minutes.
Step 6
Add the fried florets and Stir everything together thoroughly. The cauliflower florets should be well covered in chilli sauce. Its the chilli sauce that binds the fried florets well and grants it an exotic finish.
Step 7
Chilli Gobi is ready.
Step 8
Serve Chilli Gobi hot.the dish with your family.
