Easy Cake-Fried Cake
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 cup Maida
- 1 nos Egg
- 4 tsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 3/4 tsp Baking powder
- Oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Beat the egg and add all the ingredients together with it. Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 2
Add water if needed to make a paste like consistency.
Step 3
Warm the oil in a pan for frying.
Step 4
Using a spoon, pour the batter into the hot oil each spoon of batter making a cake.
Step 5
When each of them goes golden brown, its done and is ready 4 you 2 `njoy.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
