Delicious Chicken 65
Tender chicken pieces cooked in a thick, spice-heavy gravy built on caramelised shallots and coconut oil. This is the kind of Kerala chicken dish that families argue about — whose mother makes it better.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 nos Chicken — cut into 25 pieces
- 2 tsp Lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Ginger garlic paste - 3 tbsp
- 2 tbsp Chilly powder
- 11/2 tsp Garam masala
- 2 tbsp Gram flour/Besan Kadala mavu
- 1 nos Egg
- 2 Springs Curry leaves
- Red food colour A pinch
- Coconut oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing delicious chicken 65, mix lemon juice, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, chilly powder, garam masala, gram flour, egg, salt, curry leaves and food colouring.
Step 2
Marinate the chicken pieces in it for 3 hours.
Step 3
Warm coconut oil in a fry in hot oiling pan and fry the chicken pieces till cooked.
Step 4
Delicious chicken 65 is ready. Serve hot.
Tip
Bone-in chicken gives a richer, more flavourful gravy than boneless. The marrow flavours the curry as it cooks.
