Dates Biscuit
Straightforward Kerala cooking — good ingredients treated well, spiced with confidence, and served without pretence. The kind of food that tastes like someone's kitchen, not a restaurant.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- Dates : 500 gm
- Arrowroot biscuit : 7 biscuits
- Egg : 1 no
- Sugar : 1 cup
- Butter : 100 gm
Preparation
Step 1
Remove the seeds from dates and grind the dates in a mixer grinder.
Step 2
Heat the butter in a pan and melt them.3) Add sugar to the melted butter and heat them.
Step 3
Add grinded dates to them and stir the dates for some time.5) Add egg to it and stir them immediately6) Break the biscuit into small pieces and add it to the pan and mix the well.
Step 4
Get a plastic paper8) Put the date’s mixture into it.
Step 5
Roll the mixture.
Step 6
Keep the mixture in a freezer up to 5 hours. After that cut them in round shape.
Tip
Fresh curry leaves make a genuine difference. Dried curry leaves are a poor substitute — if you cannot get fresh ones, increase the quantity and fry them longer.
