Crispy Sweet Chips
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- Maida : 1 cup
- Sugar : ½ cup + ½ cup (for syrup
- Egg : 1 no
- Milk, to taste
- Oil : to fry
Preparation
Step 1
Sieve the maida and add in a vessel. To this add the measured sugar.
Step 2
Mix it well and then add the egg. And Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 3
Sprinkle milk to make it a chappathi dough form.
Step 4

Prepare like chappathi and cut into thin small pieces.

Fry in hot oil in oil and remove excess oil.
Step 8
Prepare sugar syrup and put the fried chips.
Step 9
Stir everything together thoroughly and Serve right away or wait till the syrup gets absorbed. Either way it tastes good.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
