Crispy Coconut Balls
Crispy coconut ball is a sweet and crispy snack ball made with coconut, sugar and bread. These coconut flavored bread balls are amazingly and it would be a delight to eat for coconut sweet lovers.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Coconut — grated
- 3 slice Bread
- 1 cup Bread crumbs
- 3-4 tbsp Sugar
- 3 tbsp Milk
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
- 5 nos Cashew nuts
- 10 nos Raisins
- Oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Boil the water, add sugar, cardamom and make a sugar syrup.
Step 2
Add grated coconut and cook it in sugar syrup for 5-7 minutes in medium flame.
Step 3
Now the coconut filling is ready. Take the bread slices, remove the edges and cut into small pieces. Add the bread pieces into the coconut filling.
Step 4
Pour 2-3tbsp milk, Fold everything together gently and knead into a soft dough.
Step 5
Make lemon sized balls out of the dough and roll it it in bread crumbs.
Step 6
Warm the oil in a kadai and fry the coconut balls until golden brown.
Step 7
Crispy coconut balls are ready now.
Tip
Coconut oil is the default cooking fat in Kerala kitchens. It adds a depth of flavour that other oils simply cannot match in these recipes.
