Colocasia (Chembu) Roast
Coclocasia Roast is a popular and a South Indian side dish. This crispy curry can be prepared with 20 minutes with only few ingredients. This can be had with rice. This crispy curry is definitely a treat on holidays.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1/4 kg Colocasia Chembu
- 1 nos Onion — sliced
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
- 3 nos Green chillies
- Pepper, to taste
- Curry leaves, a few
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing colocasia(chembu) roast, first slice colocasia into strips.
Step 2
Mix with salt and pepper. Fry it in oil.
Step 3
Heat a kadai and add oil. Fry ginger-garlic paste, onion, chillies and curry leaves.
Step 4
Add the fried colocasia and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 5
Add water if required to make the vegetable soft.
Step 6
Colocasia roast is ready.
Tip
The final handful of curry leaves should go in right at the end, off the heat — they should crackle and crisp in the residual heat.
