Coconut Grilled Prawns Kerala Style
Variety marinade for prawns and pan grilled in kerala style.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 250 g Prawns
- 5 nos Shallots (kunjulli)
- 1/2 cup Coconut — grated
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- 4 nos Red dry chillies
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing coconut grilled prawns, clean and de-vein prawns(can retain head).
Step 2
Marinate with ginger-garlic paste.
Step 3
Heat very little oil in pan, fry coconut, dry chillies, coriander, chilly powder and turmeric till light brown.
Step 4
Grind the paste and marinate with prawns.
Step 5
Add little salt.
Step 6
Set aside for 1 hour.
Step 7
Heat the oil in pan, fry prawns in it. Coconut grilled prawns are ready.
Tip
Never stir a fish curry with a spoon. Shake the pot gently to coat the pieces — stirring breaks them apart.
