Chocolate Cake-Muffins
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 3/4 cup All purpose flour Maida
- 1/2 cup Sugar — powdered
- 1 tbsp Cocoa
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tbsp Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Butter room temperature
- 3 tbsp Chocos cornflakes
- 8 tbsp Cream cheese
- 1 nos Egg
- Semi sweet chocolate chips – 1/2 cup
- 1/4 cup Sugar — powdered
- Salt A pinch
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing chocolate cake/muffins, first mix together the ingredients for filling : cream cheese, egg, chocolate chips, sugar and salt. Set this aside.
Step 2
Sieve together maida, cocoa, baking soda, sugar and salt. Add milk, vanilla, vinegar and butter. Stir everything together thoroughly with an electric mixer.
Step 3
Now the 2 sets of mixtures are ready.
Step 4
Get a muffin cup and fill half the portion with cocoa mixture.
Step 5
Top with 1/2 tsp cream cheese filling. Repeat same procedure with remaining muffin cups.
Step 6
Bake the muffin tins in a preheated oven for 18 minutes at 350ª.

Chocolate cake/muffins, a As well as Cake, is ready. Serve with chocos cornflakes on top.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
