Choco Burfi Restaurant Style
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 ½ Coconut
- 1 ½ Coco powder
- 1/4 cup Light hot milk
- 1/2 tbsp Vanilla essence
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 5 nos Badam
- Cocunut oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing choco burfi, heat a pan and add coconut and sugar in it.
Step 2
Add coco powder which is mixed with + cup of milk to the above mixture and stir it well.
Step 3
When the water content in coconut decrease and starts caring the side of the pan, add vanilla essence to it and bring it from flame.
Step 4
Press it in a flat plate which is covered with some coconut oil, so that the mixture doesn¦t get stick to the plate.
Step 5
Arnish with badam pieces on top of it.
Step 6
Choco burfi is ready. Serve hot or cool.
Tip
When the recipe says "medium heat," it means medium. Kerala cooking is not about high-flame drama — most of the work happens at a patient, steady temperature.
