Chilli Tuna Fish
A home-style Kerala dish made with care and the kind of spice knowledge that comes from watching someone else cook it a hundred times. Each step matters, and the result is worth the effort.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 Tin, Light meat tuna It is available in the supermarkets
- 1 nos Onion
- 1/2 tsp Ginger / Garlic paste
- 2 nos Green chilly
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Chilli sauce
- 1 tsp Tomato sauce
Preparation
Step 1
Pour oil into a pan and heat it, add chopped onions, ginger / garlic paste, chopped green chillies and cook them well. Then add Turmeric powder, chilli powder,pepper powder and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 2
Add soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 3
Add tuna fish, salt, coriander leaves and give it a good stir till it turns dry and brown colour.
Step 4
Chilli tuna fish is ready.It is good with steamed rice and chapati.
Step 5
Serve it in a plate.
Tip
Coconut oil is the default cooking fat in Kerala kitchens. It adds a depth of flavour that other oils simply cannot match in these recipes.
