Chemmeen Puli
Fresh prawn cooked the Kerala way — with coconut, curry leaves, and a tartness that comes from kudampuli or tamarind. Coastal Kerala cooking at its simplest and best.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1/2 cup Prawn cooked with salt, pepper and turmeric powder
- 3 nos Onion — sliced
- 1/2 tsp Garlic paste
- 3/4 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Ginger paste
- 2 cup Tamarind leaves
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup Water
- Salt, to taste
- 6 tbsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing chemmeen puli, fry onion in oil.
Step 2
Add the ingredients garlic paste, chilly powder, ginger paste and turmeric powder. Fry again.
Step 3
Add water to it and cook the onion.
Step 4
Add tamarind leaves and fry again.
Step 5
Add prawns and required salt. Cook well and take it off the heat.
Step 6
Chemmeen puli is ready. Serve hot.
