Chembu Mezhukkupuratti
also called as taro root in english and in tamil in cheppankizhangu. its family of Colocasia. It is a kerala style curry with tasty. As it is similar to potato in taste , kids love it Rich in Fiber and Other Important Nutrients.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1 cup Chembu
- 2 Onion — chopped
- 4 Green chilly
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Urad dal
- 6 Curry leaf
- 1 tsp Salt
Preparation
Step 1
Warm the oil in a kadai add mustard.When mustard allow to crackles add urad dal and green chilly.
Step 2
Add onions and curry leaves to this and Let it cook for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add chopped chembu 1/2 cup water and salt to this.
Step 4
Close the lid of the pan and Let it cook for 10 minutes on a low flame.
Step 5
Uncover the pan and stir until water dry up.
Step 6
Now chembu mezhukkupuratti is ready to serve.
Tip
Shred the vegetable as fine as you can — the thinner the cuts, the better the thoran. A sharp knife makes all the difference.
