- Spinach (chopped) : 1 bunch
- Coconut grated : ½ of a coconut
- 1 tsp 1 tsp (Uzhunnu)
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil. Fry uzhunnu.
Step 2
Add spinach and salt.
Step 3
When its done add coconut grated.
Step 4
Cheera Upperi ready.
Tip
The pan should be completely dry when you finish — no moisture should remain. That dryness is what gives thoran its characteristic texture.
