Cheera (Spinach) Thoran
Easy cheera thoran to make which goes with rice. Cheera thoran is a very healthy dish especially for kids. Cheera is very high in nutrition.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Red or green spinach leaves, to taste
- 4 nos Small Onion (Kunjulli)
- 1 small Coconut — grated
- 3 nos Green chilly if u want it to be spicy add 2 more
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cut the spinach leaves along with the stem.
Step 2
Grind the coconut, kunjulli and greeen chillies in mixie for 30 seconds.
Step 3
Mix the leaves and ground paste together with salt and cook this in a kadai for 4-5 minutes. :- stir it in between.
Step 4
Once it is cooked add 1 tbsp oil into cheera thoran and give it a good stir.
Step 5
Serve Cheera thoran hot with rice!
Tip
Grated coconut goes in last and cooks just long enough to warm through. Overcooking makes it chewy instead of soft.
