Cheera Cherupayar Parippu Curry
It is a kerala dish.It is a tasty curry.Every kids love this curry with ghee and rice.This is an excellent recipe!!.Please rate this after tasting this.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 cup Moong dal
- 1/2 cup Spinach (Cheera)
- 1 Onion
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
- 4 Curry leaves
Preparation
Step 1
Cook moong dal with 2 cup water with turmeric powder until soft for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Add cheera or spinach leaves before dal cooked well.
Step 3
Add coconut into fine paste with cumin seeds onion and green chilly.
Step 4
Add this coconut paste to cheera dal mix.Let it cook for 3 minutes on light flame,Do not over cook after adding coconut.
Step 5
Add salt and water and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 6
Set a kadai over medium heat and pour in the oil and add mustard,when it allow to crackles add red chilly and curry leaves and add it to curry.let it bubble for 2 minutes and now ready to serve with ghee and rice.
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
