Chapathi
Soft, layered, and golden from the griddle — this chapathi is the perfect vehicle for scooping up thick curries and gravies. The dough rests until pliable, then gets cooked until each layer separates.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 cup Wheat flour/Atta
- Salt, to taste
- 80 ml Water
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing chapathi, first sprinkle salt in wheat flour and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 2
Mix the flour with water to form a soft dough and knead it until smooth.
Step 3
Pluck out small pieces of the dough and roll it. While rolling, sprinkle more flour to avoid sticking.
Step 4
Heat a pan, and heat both sides of the rolled chapathi. Serve hot with curry.
Tip
Brush with butter or ghee immediately after taking it off the griddle — the hot surface absorbs it instantly.
