Chakka Ularthiyath
Chakka ularthiyath is a awesome dish with raw jackfruit.it is a Kerala dish and we can prepare it easily.my mother cooked this often and I learnt the recipe from her.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 medium Raw jackfruit
- 2 cup Coconut
- 4 Green chilly
- 1 Clove Garlic
- 1 tbsp Fennel seed
- 1/4 tsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Tumericpowder
- Salt
- For seasoning
- 2 String curry leaves
- 5 Dry red Philly
- 1/2 Mustard seed
- 2 tbsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Get a mixer grinder and add grated coconut,green chilly,fennel seed and garlic.
Step 2
Grind it for 3 seconds.
Step 3
Cut the jackfruit into small pieces.Take a pressure cooker and add jackfruit,chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt and 1/4 Cup water.
Step 4
Add ground coconut on the top of the jackfruit,don't mix it.let it go for 1 whistle.
Step 5
Stir everything together thoroughly the cooked jackfruit.
Step 6
Heat the oil in a vessel and allow to crackle mustard seed.Add curry leaves and fry red chilly.
Step 7
Add cooked jackfruit and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 8
Chakka ularthiyath is ready.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
