Cauliflower Thoran
It is a tasty recipe.I learned this recipe from my mom.Iam a lover of nadan dishes and try to make cauliflower in nadan style.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 250 g Culiflower
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 2 tsp Gram masala
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Coconut oil
Preparation
Step 1
Grate cauliflower wash and keep it ready.
Step 2
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil and crackle mustard seeds.
Step 3
When mustads crackles add dry red chilly to this.
Step 4
Next add grated cauliflower florets to this kadai.Add salt Let it cook for 5 minutes.
Step 5
In another kadai add 1tsp of oil and add grated coconut,onion,cumiseeds,coriander powder,chilli powder,turmeric powder fry for 5 minutes.
Step 6
When coconut mix is slightly brown we have to remove from gas.
Step 7
Next we have to ground in mixer.
Step 8
When cauliflower is cooked add this ground mix to that.
Step 9
Add 1 cup of water to cauliflower mix.
Step 10
Cook on a low flame for 5 minutes.
Step 11
Now cauliflower thoran is ready to serve.
Tip
Shred the vegetable as fine as you can — the thinner the cuts, the better the thoran. A sharp knife makes all the difference.
