Cabbage-Dry Prawns Thoran
Cabbage Dry Prawns Thoran, a different Non vegetarian curry in a Kerala style.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1/2 Of Cabbage
- 2 - Green chillies
- 1 Packet Dry prawns Onakka chemmeen
- 3/4 Of Cocunut
- Or
- 1 cup Dried/dessicated coconut
- 1 nos Onion small
- Curry leaves A, a few
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder (Jeerakam)
- Salt, to taste
- Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Pan-fry prawns in a pan and keep them aside.
Step 2
Mix finely grated cabbage and all the other ingredients with enough oil.
Step 3
Stir everything together thoroughly with your hands.
Step 4
Keep on stove and let the cabbage get cooked.
Step 5
When half done, add fried prawns and gently mix.
Step 6
Cook for another 10 minutes.
Step 7
Take it off the heat.
Step 8
Goes well with rasam or plain moru and rice.
Tip
Grated coconut goes in last and cooks just long enough to warm through. Overcooking makes it chewy instead of soft.
