Cabbage And Onion Vada
Thinly sliced cabbage mixed with onion and other ingredients to make vada.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 cup Cabbage — finely sliced
- 1 nos Egg beaten
- 2 nos Green chillies — finely chopped
- 1 nos Onion — finely sliced
- 1 tbsp All purpose flour Maida
- 1 tbsp Rice flour
- Curry leaves, a few
- Oil — for frying
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, and put sliced cabbage, onion and chopped green chillies. Mix all the ingredients together.
Step 2
Add beaten egg, rice flour, maida, curry leaves and required salt. Mix together.
Step 3
Shape into small vadas with your palm.
Step 4
Place a pan on the stove and pour sufficient oil for frying. Heat the oil and fry the cabbage and onion vada on both sides until golden in color.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
