Butter Kappa | Kerala Butter Kappa | Easy Kerala Tapioca Butter Mix
A comforting Kerala-style tapioca snack made with soft kappa and butter.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 cup Cooked tapioca
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 3/4 cup Coconut milk
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
- 4 nos Dried red chillies
- Curry leaves, a few
Preparation
Step 1
Cook the tapioca by adding salt to taste. You can pressure let it go for two whistles.
Step 2
Place a pan on the stove and add butter.
Step 3
Next, add cooked and drained tapioca.
Step 4
Cook the tapioca in butter for 2-3 minutes.
Step 5
Stir in coconut milk and Fold everything together gently. Bring to a gentle boil.
Step 6
Add pepper powder, Stir everything together thoroughly and take it off the heat.
Step 7
For seasoning the butter kappa, Heat the oil in a tadka, let the mustard seeds crackle and add chopped shallots into it. When it turns to lightly browned add dried red chillies and few curry leaves.
Step 8
Pour it over the prepared butter kappa.
Step 9
Super creamy and Butter Kappa is ready.
Tip
Do not rush the onion and shallot frying. The difference between pale onions and properly browned onions is the difference between a flat dish and a flavourful one.
