Bun Fry-Instant Bun Snack
Kerala-style dry fry where egg is cooked down until all the moisture evaporates and what remains is intensely flavoured, slightly caramelised, and impossibly moreish. Best with parotta or plain rice.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 10 piece Bun
- 2 Egg
- 3/4 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Whisk the egg with pepper powder,garam masala and salt.
Step 2
Cut the bun into 1.5 inch squares.
Step 3
Dip the bun squares in egg mixture.
Step 4
Heat ghee/oil in a pan and fry all the sides until brown colour.
Step 5
Instant Bun Fry is ready.
Tip
Coconut oil is not optional in a Kerala fry. It adds a flavour that no other oil can replicate.
