Broiled Cat Fish
Fresh fish cooked the Kerala way — with coconut, curry leaves, and a tartness that comes from kudampuli or tamarind. Coastal Kerala cooking at its simplest and best.
Ingredientsfor 1 servings
- 1 nos Whole cat fish skin removed
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1/4 tsp Olive oil
Preparation
Step 1
Clean the fish and make 2 - 3 small cuts across the fish on either side by using a knife.
Step 2
Marinate it with chilly powder, black pepper powder, salt and olive oil and keep it in the fridge for atleast an hr.
Step 3
Get a baking pan and place the fish in it.
Step 4
Broil high in the upper rack of your oven for about 20 minutes.
Step 5
Turn side and broil for another 20 minutes.
Step 6
Goes well with rice or it can be eaten as it is.
Tip
Never stir a fish curry with a spoon. Shake the pot gently to coat the pieces — stirring breaks them apart.
