Brinjal Tomato Sambhar
It is a nice tasty curry for rice. It is a tasty accompaniment.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Brinjal
- 1 Tomato
- 1 Onion
- 4 Green chilly
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup Toor dal
- 2 Red chilly
- 1 tsp Fenu greek seeds
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Sambhar powder
Preparation
Step 1
Cook toor dal with 1 cup of water in a cooker,till it is fully cooked.
Step 2
Add onions and brinjal to this.
Step 3
Add tomatoes add green chilly and salt.
Step 4
Cook in a cooker until it is fully mushy.
Step 5
When vegetables and dal is fully cooked we have to add tamarind juice to this.
Step 6
Next we have to do tempering.For that Heat the oil in a kadai add mustard,red chilly and fenu greek seeds and sambhar powder. And add this to sambhar.
Step 7
Now brinjal tomato sambhar is ready.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
