Bread Egg Uppuma
A creative and wholesome breakfast option that combines the simplicity of bread with the nutrition of eggs.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 6 slice Bread White or Brown bread
- 4-5 nos Eggs
- 1/2 cup Carrot — chopped
- 3 tsp Onions — chopped
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 5-6 Curry leaves
- 3 tsp Green Chilli — chopped
- 1 tsp Ginger — chopped
- Salt, to taste
- 3 tsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Cut the Bread slices into small pieces and keep them separately.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a Cheenachatti and burst the Mustard Seeds in this hot Oil. Then add the Carrot pieces and chopped Onion, Ginger, Green Chilli, Curry leaves and stir the Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 3
When colour of these ingredients turns into golden, add required salt. Next, break the Eggs and add the contents (White and Yolk) of the Eggs into this mix and stir it well (no water should be added at any stage).
Step 4
Before getting the Egg contents dried, add the Bread pieces and stir the Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 5
Bread & Egg Uppuma is ready and serve this hot Uppuma for Break-fast/Dinner or with eveing Tea/Cool drinks.
Tip
Frying the boiled eggs briefly before adding to the curry gives them a golden skin that holds up better in the gravy.
