Black Forest Cake - Easy To Make
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 7 servings
- 2 cup Allpurpose flour Maida
- 11/4 cup Sugar dust
- 5 tbsp Chocolate powder
- 3/4 cup Butter
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Soda
- Coco cola or Thums up A small bottle
- 2 tsp Vanilla essence
Preparation
Step 1
1)Mix together sugar dust and butter. 2)Add maida, baking powder, soda, chocolate powder and Stir everything together thoroughly. 3)Add coco cola and vanilla essence and Stir everything together thoroughly again. 4)Beat properly, until it is done. 5)Bake the cake at 250 degree C for about 45 minutes. 6)Check if it is done by inserting a toothpick, which should come out clean, if done.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
