Beetroot Dates Pickle

Ingredientsfor 10 servings
- 2 nos Beetroot — grated
- 10 nos Dates — chopped
- Ginger small piece
- 1 Clove Garlic
- 21/2 tsp Pickle powder
- 11/2 tsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Mustard
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Beetroot Dates Pickle, take all the ingredients and keep it ready.
Step 2
Heat oil and let the mustard seeds crackle.
Step 3
Add crushed ginger garlic and cook for one minute.
Step 4
Add grated beetroot.
Step 5
Add chopped dates.
Step 6
Add chilli powder, pickle powder and Stir everything together thoroughly and Let it cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
Step 7
Add salt, vinegar and turn off the heat.
Step 8
Convert it into a plate and let it cool. Store in an air tight container jar when it is cool.
Step 9
Beetroot dates pickle is ready to serve.
Tip
Mustard oil needs to be heated to smoking point and then cooled before adding to the pickle. This removes its pungent raw flavour.
