Beef Stuffed Bun
Beef cooked the Kerala way — with patience, a heavy hand of spices, and enough coconut oil to make the purists happy. The meat is slow-cooked until it is tender enough to fall apart, then finished with intensity.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 4 piece Bun
- 1/4 kg Beef
- 1/2 kg Onion
- 1 nos Ginger
- 4 nos Garlic cloves — chopped
- 5 nos Green chillies — chopped
- 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt A pinch
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 2 nos Egg
Preparation
Step 1
Cook beef pieces with coriander, chilly, turmeric powder, salt and little water. Drain water.
Step 2
Grind in a mixer grinder.
Step 3
Fry onion, green chilly, ginger and garlic in ghee. Add minced beef and garam masala to it and stir it well.
Step 4
Cut the bottom of the bun in circle and remove some portion on the inner side of the bun.
Step 5
Stuff the beef masala in the bun and place the removed portion back on the bun.
Step 6
Beat the egg well.
Step 7
Then dip the bun in the egg.
Step 8
Then fry it in a pan using some ghee.
Tip
Thin strips cook faster and develop more crispy surface area than thick cubes. Cut against the grain for tenderness.
