Beef Pot Roast With Potato
Beef Pot Roast with Potatoes is a timeless dish that brings a hearty, warming touch to family dinners and gatherings.

- 1 kg Beef
- 2 nos Onion large
- 1 large Tomato pureed
- 3 nos Green chilly
- 1 large Potato
- 2 tbsp Ginger garlic — crushed
- 2 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tbsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- Coriander leaves — chopped
- 1 cup Hot water
Preparation
Step 1
Clean, wash and drain the beef pieces. Set aside.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and add the spices: red chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala and pepper powder.
Step 3
Keep stirring and cook in low flame until the color changes into nice brown. Take care and do not burn the spices.
Step 4
Next, add sliced onion and crushed ginger garlic.
Step 5
Stir everything together thoroughly and add the diced potatoes.
Step 6
Add tomato paste.
Step 7
Add sliced green chilly.
Step 8
Add turmeric powder and salt to taste.
Step 9
Add the beef pieces and stir.
Step 10
Add chopped coriander leaves.
Step 11
Stir everything together thoroughly and pour 3/4 cup water. Pressure cook for 5-6 whistles or until fully cooked.
Step 12
After releasing the pressure, open the lid and Fold everything together gently.
Step 13
Serve Beef Pot Roast along with Puttu, Chappathi etc.
Tip
A heavy-bottomed pan or cast iron skillet gives you the best results for a proper Kerala fry. Thin pans burn the spices before the meat dries.
