Beef Pockets | Ifthar Snack
Beef Pockets are a and crispy snack, perfect for Iftar during Ramadan or as an evening treat.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 150 g Beef
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 nos Onion
- 2 nos Green chilly
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- Coriander leaves — chopped
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala powder
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Pressure cook the beef by adding pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
Step 2
Warm the oil in a pan and add sliced onion, chopped green chilly and crushed ginger garlic.
Step 3
Cook until the onion turns soft.
Step 4
Add all masala powders. cook for one minute on medium heat until the rawness cooks out of the masala powders.
Step 5
Add cooked and shredded beef and Fold everything together gently.
Step 6
In a spacious mixing bowl, and add maida, salt and water as needed to make a smooth batter.
Step 7
Another bowl whisk one egg with 1/4 tsp pepper powder and with a little salt. This is as egg wash for the beef pockets.
Step 8
Pour half portion of egg mixture into maida batter and Fold everything together gently.
Step 9
Heat a non-stick pan and pour a small ladle of batter in the center of the hot pan and spread it to form a circle. Keep the flame low. Place the beef filling on its center.
Step 10
Fold four sides to make a box like.
Step 11
Egg wash both sides of beef pockets and cook both sides until lightly browned.
Step 12
Super Beef Pockets are ready now.
Tip
The coconut pieces should get slightly crispy along with the beef. They add a textural contrast that makes the dish.
