Beef Masala - Easy Cooking
When it comes to simple and quick meals, Beef Masala dish comes to mind. Beef pieces coated in thick fragrant spicy gravy is one of the dishes that will definitely make you crave for more.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 kg Beef
- 3 nos Onion — chopped
- 1 nos Tomato big — chopped
- 7 nos Garlic cloves — chopped
- 1 medium Ginger — chopped
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 2 tsp Coriander/Dhaniya Powder
- 3 tsp Pepper Powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- Curry leaves, a few
- Coconut oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cook the beef in a pressure cooker with salt, turmeric and little pepper powder and set aside.
Step 2
In a cooking pan, pour the oil and add ginger, garlic and the curry leaves.
Step 3
Add chopped onion and fry till it gets deep golden colour.
Step 4
Add the masala powders one by one and fry for 5-10 minutes.
Step 5
Add the tomato and fry it well. Add the cooked beef to the mixture and mix it well. Add 1 glass of water and boil it for 10-15 minutes until the water dries up. Your beef masala is ready.
Tip
Pressure cooking first saves time, but do not skip the dry-roasting step after — that is where the Kerala beef fry gets its signature dark, caramelised crust.
